How to volunteer with us

Join our volunteers and make a difference to the heart health of Australians.

Our passionate volunteers help us save Australian Hearts, giving up their time for our cause. It’s thanks to people like you that we can achieve our ambitious goals.

You can volunteer in a variety of ways

At our offices

Join our teams at one of our eight offices around Australia. You’ll get to work closely with our staff on critical projects and activities.

At an event

Raise vital contributions to fund life-saving research and have fun while you do it!

Through our walking program

The lifeblood of our walking program, volunteer walk organisers get thousands of Australians walking their way to better health every day.

Volunteers make a difference

Heart Foundation volunteers make a significant difference. For example, Rockhampton volunteers wrap Christmas presents each year to raise vital funds to help us fight heart disease. It’s a great way to have fun with new friends and old.

Meet our volunteers

"I volunteer to contribute to a cause that I am passionate about ... and honour my mother’s life who suffered from heart disease and passed away way too soon."
- Stephen Pike

"I like working with other staff knowing that collectively, we are working to educate people on the risk factors and prevention of heart disease."
- Coleen Hill

"Volunteering at the Heart Foundation ... has really opened my eyes to just how important volunteers are for not-for-profit organisations and Australian communities."
- Sree Sreekumar

Our volunteer promise

  • We offer meaningful volunteer roles that contribute to the work that we do.
  • You'll have a clear role description and be guided and supported by a member of staff.
  • We welcome you into our friendly team.
  • You get appropriate training and orientation, and opportunities to learn, network, and gain experience.

How to volunteer
