The Heart Foundation is Australia’s largest non-government funder of cardiovascular research. We are committed to advancing knowledge to better prevent, treat and manage conditions including heart disease, stroke and blood vessel disease.
For over 60 years, the Heart Foundation has funded the brightest minds to undertake research to improve cardiovascular health, investing more than $720 million (in today’s dollars).
Catalyst Partnership Grants are a novel, collaborative way of funding innovative ideas and solutions to improve cardiovascular health in Australia. They are an exciting addition to our existing suite of grant and fellowship funding schemes.
Catalyst Partnership Grants provide the opportunity to connect innovators with investors and collaborate with our extensive network to help improve the heart health of all people in Australia.
We are looking for big, bold and brilliant ‘game-changing’ ideas to help us further combat cardiovascular disease in Australia and globally.

Unlike traditional research grants, these grants are open to all sectors, and levels of experience and expertise.
The application process will involve four stages: -
Stage 1: Expressions of interest open on 27 May 2024 and close 5 July 2024.
Stage 2: Selected applicants with the best and brightest ideas will be invited to submit a full application in August 2024.
Stage 3: From the 50, ‘20 of the best’ top 20 applicants will be invited to work with experts in October 2024 to February 2025 to develop their pitch for the showcase.
Stage 4: The top 20 applicants will then pitch their ideas to potential investors and collaborators at the Catalyst Showcase! The 10 winners will then be announced following the Showcase event.
Catalyst Grant Finalists must be able to commit to the development and refinement of their pitch and engage with an external consultant as required, over the period of mid-October – February, excluding end of year closure/break.
